Software Localization

Software Localization Services
Our software localization services help our clients adapt their products and services into a target language, ensuring flawless usability at all levels.

The software localization process involves separate and distinct workflows for adapting the user interface, Help files and technical documentation. We build the highest quality into every stage of software localization: from identifying and extracting the elements that need localization to re-engineering and doing final testing on multiple language versions.

Our engineers like a challenge. They face complex and daunting tasks head on, applying a process-oriented methodology that allows them to juggle competing deadlines and deliverables. Whether they’re resizing user interface objects to accommodate text expansion, tracking and fixing bugs or writing test scripts, they will balance your needs with the industry's most advanced technical knowledge—for a product that will make you proud.

Software Localization Process

Pre-Production Consultation:

  • Once you accept our proposal, we will assemble your software localization team
    • Project Manager
    • Translator(s)/Editor(s)
    • Software Localization Engineer
  • Help you determine if your website/application is localization-ready
  • Determine project deliverables and processes
  • Establish project timelines

Content Preparation:

  • Inventory and analyze source files and graphics
  • Identify and address potential translation issues

Glossary Development:

Prior to beginning any software translation, we will compile a master glossary that lists terms specific to your organization, product or service. This is important in ensuring accuracy and consistency across all your translated software and secondary materials. It also helps us make sure that proprietary names, products and services are translated properly. When you have reviewed and approved the glossary, we will begin the translation process.

Style Guide:

The style guide defines how all grammatical and stylistic issues should be adapted for each market.

Translate and Edit Content

Software Localization Engineering:

Once your files have been translated and edited (review our 10-Step process here) our localization engineers will begin to integrate the translated text into your application. They will oversee all the technical requirements, graphics editing and language-specific web coding, alterations and troubleshooting.

  • Localize graphics, colors, currency and symbols

Testing and Quality Control:

Our final step involves testing your application's functionality and user interface, and conducting a linguistic review. If additional changes are needed, all team members will verify them before implementation.
